Before I get to the puzzle please look to your left. No, your other left. See that big gold button that says “Pay Now”. No? Ok, scroll up just a little. There, now do you see it? Sweet! That button is the portal to your entry to Lollapuzzoola 2: The Sun of Puzzoola. That’s right, registration is now open for our very own crossword puzzle tournament. We’ll give more details as soon as we figure them out but here’s what we do know:
- Date: August 22, 2009 (That’s a Saturday. In August.)
- Time: 11am-5pm
- Cost: $20.00
- Event: 4-5 original crossword puzzles by top constructors
- Prizes: You know, we actually have some pretty good prizes this year.
- Snacks: To be decided. Suggestions welcome.
Two requests.
- Please sign up as early as you can. Our budget for the event is based solely on the your registration fees. The earlier we know how much we’ll have, the better the event will be.
- If you’d like to construct a puzzle for us, please let us know. We’re looking for standard crosswords puzzles that have a twist. Something goofy. Maybe something you’ve always wanted to construct but that wouldn’t be viable in a newspaper. Whatever. We’re open to anything. And thank you.
Now, on to the puzzle. Today’s Steve Dobis puzzle is all about being SHORT.
No, not Bermuda shorts.
No, not SNL Digital Shorts.
Ok, now you know that’s not right. Short. You know, brief.
Curt?
Tiny?
Petite?
Ok, you know what? Forget it. I’m done.
Really?
Promise?
Ok, great. So, today’s puzzle is all about being SHORT.
I’ve had enough with you! If that’s the way you want to be then I’m out of here. Seriously. Go ahead. It’s all yours. I’d love to see how you do this without me. See you at home.
Next stop, Wednesday.
(I hope you enjoyed today’s edition of Crossword Blog Theater. Playing the part of Ryan, the Blogger was Ryan, the Blogger and playing the part of the Uncooperative Internet was David Caruso. Thank you very much. Please tip your waiters and waitresses.)
