My apologies for the wrong number puzzle acknowledgment.

I remember doing on in the Wordplay book (which I don't seem to have on hand at the moment). I used xwordinfo.com to look up one of the clues I remembered (TROMBONES), and found Jim Page's puzzle. I'm sorry if it was the wrong puzzle.

As for work -- yes, once we open, it's only eight shows a week (plus understudy rehearsals). But we do production meetings and whatnot -- and I live too far away to go home between shows or between show-and-rehearsal. It's not the work that's troubling (I don't mind it one bit), it's the hours away from home... Just very long days.

The main page has been messed up for me for several days (I have IE7), since the Tue. and podcast posts went up. Individual post pages are normal.

I'll beat Jon Delfin to this nitpick: the number-gimmick puzzle you're referring to is by A.J. Santora and from 1970. I see Jim Page did one too, but it's not in the Wordplay book.

Brian, I'll trade jobs with you in a heartbeat. And ahem, after your show opens, isn't it a 24-hour MAXIMUM workweek? With hourly pay after that? Happy opening!

okay, i'm doing too many things at once. the wonky bit s are:
1) no column padding
2) the previous day's post in the left hand column instead of the usual links

okay, this is bizzare: i clicked the comment button to complain that the formatting of the site has been wonky (no column padding and the previous day's for several days, but when the comment screen comes up, miraculously the entire site goes back into its proper columns. i guess if the problem continues i can fix it myself . . .
