okay, now i'm really confused. i thought KRIS kristofferson was the bassist in nirvana. turns out i was thinking of krist novoselic, who's not at all the same guy. i also thought KRIS kristofferson was the father of the title character in eugene o'neill's "anna christie," and … i'm right. but that's also not the same guy.

Streaking may be passe in on this continent but in Europe it seems like you can't go to a soccer (futbol for the Spanish still stinging over the recent USA triumph over them) match without some exhibitionist baring all. Not that I've been to a soccer game in the last couple of decades but it's on the internet so it must be true.

re: 30A. Kristofferson of music (KRIS) Ah, the duality that is Kris Kristofferson. The Yin and Yang. The Alpha and Omega. The breath mint and the candy mint.

In an attempt to ease your troubled mind, I IMDB'd good old boy Kris, and discovered that many of his early songs were written by none other than Shel Silverstein, another crossword luminary. I was further shocked to find that Mr. Silverstein also wrote the song "A Boy Named Sue".

I suspect that this will not clear up your confusion about Kris K.
